We compare the numbers of Morgan Gibbs-White (£7.5m) and Eberechi Eze (£7.5m) from last season to help determine which asset would be the better pickup for FPL managers going into Gameweek 1 of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.

Both these two England internationals have been the subject of intense transfer speculation leading up to this season, but as it stands, both Gibbs-White and Eze remain at Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace respectively. The pair combined for 34 attacking returns in the 2024-25 FPL campaign.
Gibbs-White was responsible for 18 of those with seven goals and 11 assists, whilst Eze accumulated eight goals and eight assists. However, Eze’s xGI (expected goal involvements) was significantly higher at 15.1 compared to 11 for Gibbs-White.
The early fixtures favour Gibbs-White, whose Forest team starts at home to Brentford before meeting Eze’s Eagles at Selhurst Park in Gameweek 2 before another home fixture, this time against West Ham. Crystal Palace begin away to Chelsea.
Whilst Gibbs-White outperforming his xGI last season is a warning, it’s hard to look beyond him over Eze for Gameweek 1 when considering his fixture and the fact that both him and Eze come in at the same price.
Verdict: Morgan Gibbs-White (£7.5m)
