The FPL spotlight falls upon Bournemouth duo Justin Kluivert (£7.0m) and Antoine Semenyo (£7.0m) as we use last season’s statistics to help make a decision on which is the most attractive Bournemouth midfield asset.

Justin Kluivert was on the field for nearly 900 minutes less than Antoine Semenyo across the 2024-25 Premier League season, which makes his numbers even more impressive. A total of 18 attacking returns, specifically 12 goals and six assists cannot be sniffed, although half of those goals came from the penalty spot.
Semenyo could only match Kluivert’s attacking output despite significantly more minutes with 11 goals and seven assists. This underlines the importance of being on penalty-duty. In regards to xGI (expected goal involvements), Semenyo’s 13.9 is slightly higher than Kluivert’s 13.7.
When looking at the numbers, Kluivert looks the better long-term pick than Semenyo, but with the former being an injury doubt heading into Gameweek 1, Semenyo appears the more enticing short-term selection. If Kluivert gets passed fit, we’re leaning towards him as the move to make.
Verdict: Justin Kluivert (£7.0m)
