THE LOWDOWN
REAL SOCIEDAD
As one of the most intense pressing sides in European football, it has been a theme of Real Sociedad’s recent seasons for them to be excellent in the first-half of the campaign before really falling away in the second-half of the season and it does, once again, appear to be the case that their campaign is unravelling at the moment.
They were hammered 4-1 over two legs by Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League and also beaten on penalties by Real Mallorca in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey. La Real needed a late turnaround to defeat relegation-bound Granada in Andalusia last weekend but that was just their second La Liga victory in their last seven matches.
CADIZ
It has been a generally miserable campaign for Cadiz with 18th place in La Liga arguably flattering them as they went over six months without a La Liga victory but performances have improved since former Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino replaced Sergio in January and the Andalusians earned a much-needed victory last weekend.
They defeated an out of form and distracted Atletico Madrid by two goals to nil at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla in a famous encounter down in the south of Spain last Saturday. Juanmi scored both goals with strikes in either half and that means they are now unbeaten in three matches as they remain in the fight against the drop.

THE PREDICTION
This one would have expected to be a one-sided affair at the Anoeta but Real Sociedad have proved themselves to be a team that are desperately out of form in the second-half of this season. They now face a Cadiz side that have showed major signs of improvement and will be confident of continuing that after their defeat of Atletico last weekend. La Real may still come out on top with their home advantage but a low-scoring encounter remains likely.
