THE LOWDOWN

GETAFE

Jose Bordalas returned to Getafe towards the end of last season and has produced an impressive side, once again, at the Coliseum in the capital city. They come into this final couple of months of La Liga as they sit just a few points outside of the top seven and the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying spots.

The home team come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of top four chasing Girona in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that victory, Getafe were winless in four matches. The Bordalas style has evolved this season, though, with their 29 matches consisting of 79 goals.

SEVILLA

Sevilla head into La Liga’s ‘run-in’ still just about involved in the relegation battle after what has been another really poor season of underperformance but they went into the March international break on the back of improved results under the management of former Watford and Espanyol boss, Quique Sanchez Flores.

The former Getafe manager, who is their third manager of the campaign after the previous sackings of Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan earlier this season, did, though, oversee a 2-1 loss at home to manager-less Celta Vigo in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago before the March international break.

THE TEAM NEWS

SEVILLA

Sevilla have been injury ravaged throughout the campaign but they only have one availability issue for this weekend with Jesus Navas missing through suspension.

PREDICTED XI (5-3-2): Nyland; Ocampos, Bade, Ramos, Salas, Acuna; Sow, Soumare, Oliver Torres; Romero, En-Nesyri

UNAVAILABLE: Navas (Suspended)

THE PREDICTION

What could be quite intriguing in this match is just how intense and hostile it gets as Getafe welcome Sevilla to the Spanish capital. Jose Bordalas’ style of football, albeit evolved into a more entertaining sort of thing, has remained relentlessly aggressive and difficult to watch in that respect for the neutral. Sevilla, especially with former Getafe boss Quique Sanchez Flores, could well be drawn into a game that is stop-start and bordering on unwatchable.
