THE LOWDOWN
GETAFE
The second stint in charge of Getafe for Jose Bordalas has been another relatively successful one as they push comfortably away from the bottom three and the relegation places. The Madrid-based club are still in the hunt for a top seven finish and potential UEFA Europa Conference League qualification as we head into the final few weeks of the season.
The hosts kept that dream alive with a comfortable 3-1 defeat of bottom-of-the-table Almeria in their most recent outing, last weekend. Mason Greenwood notched a brace either side of a goal from Anthony Lozano before Jaime Mata clinched all three points for Getafe and they have now suffered just one loss in their last five matches.
ATHLETIC BILBAO
It has been a remarkably impressive season for Athletic Club with Ernesto Valverde’s Basque giants having already wrapped up a first trophy in nearly 40 years as they won the Copa del Rey at La Cartuja in Seville in early April with a penalty shootout victory over Real Mallorca in the final. They are still in the hunt for a top four finish but are now six points adrift of fourth placed Atletico Madrid.
That six-point gap, though, is as a result of a four-match winless run of form in La Liga since winning the cup against Mallorca. Their most recent outing saw them comfortably defeated by three goals to one at the Metropolitano against their rivals for a place in the top four Atletico last weekend with goals from Rodrigo De Paul and Angel Correa with an own goals from Unai Simon.

THE PREDICTION
Getafe have been a lot more enjoyable to watch for the neutral in Jose Bordalas’ second spell in charge. For example, their 33 matches so far this season in La Liga have consisted of 86 goals. Athletic Club have also been one of the more proactive and entertaining teams to watch in the league but they have taken their eye off the ball in the last few weeks so another high-scoring clash would appear quite likely for this one in the Spanish capital.
