THE PREDICTION
Roger Schmidt’s Benfica have been absolutely phenomenal this season. The Lisbon club look a sharper and more cohesive unit with UEFA Champions League progression looking good alongside seven victories and a draw in their opening eight Primeira Liga matches. They now face a Rio Ave side that, following promotion last season, have started the 2022/23 campaign with fairly steady form as they sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table. Despite that, though, Benfica should win this one quite comfortably, especially with their home advantage.
