THE LOWDOWN

UDINESE

It has been a bizarre and fairly unusual campaign for Udinese thus far as they languish down in the relegation battle but they produced another famous win last week, defeating Lazio by two goals to one at the Stadio Olimpico which was just their fourth win of the season as they begin the weekend sitting a couple of points clear of the bottom three and the relegation places.

In their four victories this season, the Friulians have defeated AC Milan by a goal to nil at San Siro and also won by the same scoreline in Turin against Juventus. Coached by former Crawley Town boss Gabriele Cioffi, Udinese have been held to a remarkable 15 draws with nine defeats; which is just one more than defending champions, Napoli.

TORINO

Torino have been typically frustrating and a bit weird to watch this season under the management of former Hellas Verona boss, Ivan Juric. Despite a clear and genuine intent to play a front foot style of football, the Turin-based club have been consistently low-scoring having notched 26 times in their 28 matches thus far.

Only Hellas Verona and bottom-of-the-table Salernitana have scored fewer than Torino so far this season and yet Torino begin this weekend still in contention for a top seven finish and potential European qualification. They come into this one on the back of sharing a 1-1 draw with an improving Napoli side in Naples, last weekend.

THE TEAM NEWS

Defender Nehuen Perez it out suspended for this weekend, whilst the likes of Gerard Deulofeu, Enzo Ebosse and Vivaldo are absent due to injury.

QUESTIONABLE:

TORINO

The visitors have several injury issues for this weekend’s trip to the north east as Adrien Tameze, Ivan Ilic and Koffi Djidji are sidelined through respective injuries.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Milinkovic-Savic; Vojvoda, Buongiorno, Masina; Bellanova, Linetty, Gineitis, Rodriguez; Vlasic; Pellegri, Zapata

UNAVAILABLE: Djidji (Injured), Ilic (Injured), Lovato (Injured), Tameze (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: N’Guessan (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

A reason for Udinese drawing too many matches instead of winning and getting over the line is their limitations in attack. The home team have scored just 28 goas in their 28 matches so far this season with only four teams having scored fewer than them so far this season. One of those four teams is their upcoming opponents, Torino. This is expected to be a low-scoring encounter with under 2.5 goals seeming fairly inevitable for this one.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
