THE PREDICTION

For Wolfsburg in this match, the big question is whether they can fully focus on the task at hand when taking into account their crucial Champions League group stage showdown with Lille in midweek. It would be no surprise if the visiting players did not have that in the back of their minds ahead of this showdown with Mainz, which may well play into the hands of Bo Svensson’s side. The hosts are winless in three games, but have been beaten just once at home this season and are more than capable of picking up least a point against a Wolfsburg unit who themselves have accrued just a point from their last two Bundesliga fixtures. Therefore, back Mainz to either win or draw via the double chance market.
