The home team have been very impressive so far this season and they do remain in the hunt for the top four and UEFA Champions League qualification ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. They now come up against a Mainz side that have won two of their last three matches as they sit comfortably in the middle-of-the-table. These have two of the better defences in the league having conceded just 24 goals each in their 21 games so a low-scoring encounter appears a likely outcome for this one.
