On the back of two successive league defeats and just a point from the last nine available to them in the Bundesliga, things don’t get any easier for Mainz as they travel to Borussia Dortmund who currently sit just a point behind the top two. The visitors can at least take heart from the fact that they put in a good fight in their most recent away fixture against second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, albeit in eventual defeat. Dortmund however, like Leverkusen should prove simply too strong for Mainz and continue their 100% Bundesliga record at Signal-Iduna-Park this season. Should star striker Erling Haaland be passed fit to play for the hosts, then it may be worth backing them to win by two clear goals as opposed to just the outright victory.
