THE PREDICTION

Hoffenheim were beaten 2-1 at Augsburg last Saturday as they suffered three successive league defeats for the first time this season, as there is still time for them to be dragged into the relegation scrap. Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, enjoyed a winning start under new coach Hannes Wolf with a 2-1 victory over bottom side Schalke. The Werkself are now looking to register back-to-back wins for the first time this year and cement their position in the top six. Curiously, four of the last six meetings between the two sides have finished 4-1, with two wins apiece, and this could well be another high-scoring encounter. Nine of Hoffenheim’s last 11 Bundesliga matches have seen three or more goals, as have six of Leverkusen’s last eight, so over 2.5 goals is the way to go here.
