THE PREDICTION
Union Berlin can justifiably claim to be the number one team in the German capital at the moment. Urs Fischer’s side go into the derby in an impressive sixth place following an eight-match unbeaten run, and they will be hoping to back that up with victory over their neighbours on Friday night. It has been a rather mediocre start to the campaign for Hertha, although they did manage to hold free-scoring Bayer Leverkusen to a goalless draw last time out. They will need to show that same defensive solidity against Union, who have scored 19 goals in their last seven league outings. Bruno Labbadia’s charges are yet to win on home soil this season, though, and the visitors would probably settle for a point too.
