THE PREDICTION
Basement boys Schalke claimed only their second league win of the campaign against Augsburg last Sunday but they have surely left it too late to pull off a great escape. The Royal Blues effectively need to win all six of their remaining games, and that is something they have not done on the road all season. They will fancy their chances of getting something here, though, against a Freiburg side whose European hopes have been dashed following four defeats in their last five. Christian Streich’s charges have found the net just three times in that period and they are up against the lowest scorers in the division here, so a low-scoring contest looks likely, especially since 11 of the last 13 encounters between the two teams have seen under 2.5 goals.
