THE PREDICTION
Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-1 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen last time out saw their lead in fourth place cut to just one point, but a first ever qualification for the Champions League remains in their hands. The Eagles are still unbeaten at Deutsche Bank Park this season, winning eight of their last nine home league matches, but this will be anything but easy against a Mainz side who have been in equally impressive form in recent months. Bo Svensson’s men extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a draw at home to Hertha on Monday and have won their last three on the road, something they have not achieved since 2010. A case can therefore be made for both teams to win but in any case there should be a few goals, as Frankfurt have scored at least two in nine of their last 10 home league games, while 10 of Mainz’s 15 away outings this season have produced over 2.5 goals, which looks likely again here.
