THE PREDICTION

Just one point separates these two sides who are both still in with a shout of climbing into the top six. Borussia Monchengladbach had been there for much of the campaign but have been in freefall since coach Marco Rose announced his departure at the end of the season, although the Foals did end a run of seven consecutive defeats in all competitions with a much-needed 3-0 win at bottom side Schalke last time out. Freiburg, after a strong end to 2020, have been inconsistent this year, and Monchengladbach has not been a happy hunting ground for the Black Forest club, whose one and only Bundesliga win at BORUSSIA-PARK came way back in 1995. Gladbach’s form is not convincing enough to back them for the win, though, so a repeat of the draw in the reverse fixture looks more appealing.
