THE PREDICTION

This is simply a must-win match for both of these teams, who have both slipped back into the relegation battle following poor runs. Victory for Augsburg - who have taken just one point from their last five games - would secure their Bundesliga status, but defeat could leave them needing a result at Bayern Munich on the final day. Werder Bremen travel to Bavaria above the relegation play-off place on goal difference, but they did at least end a run of seven successive defeats in the league with a goalless draw at home to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend. Although neither side have been scoring a lot lately, their recent meetings have tended to produce plenty of goals, and since both desperately need the three points, that could well lead to an open contest and over 2.5 goals.
