Back-to-back defeats have all but ended any hopes Heidenheim had of promotion, leaving them eight points off the top three with just nine to play for. They have performed well at home overall this season, although all three of their defeats at the Voith-Arena have come since the turn of the year. Sandhausen are also looking to bounce back following two defeats on the spin as they look to stay out of the relegation play-off position. They did pull off a surprising 4-0 win in the reverse fixture but their away record this season is nothing short of dreadful - 14 defeats in 15 matches speaks for itself. That, combined with Heidenheim’s strength at home, means a home win is the obvious choice here.
