THE TEAM NEWS

HEIDENHEIM

Predicted line-up (4-4-2): Muller; Busch, Mainka, Beermann, Theuerkauf; Schnatterer, Dorsch, Griesbeck, Biankadi; Thomalla, Schmidt

Unavailable: Thiel (Injured), Husing (Injured)

Doubtful:

  • Three goals in the final 20 minutes saw Heidenheim come from behind to claim a 3-1 win at promoted side Osnabruck last Saturday, although they were aided by a sending off for the hosts when the score was still at 1-1.
  • Striker Robert Glatzel, who did not feature against Osnabruck, completed his move to Cardiff City this week so loanee David Otto, who came off the bench to score on his debut, could be in contention to start.
  • Centre-back Oliver Husing has been ruled out along with long-term absentee Maximilian Thiel, but first-choice goalkeeper Kevin Muller is fit again and is likely to be preferred to Vitus Eicher between the sticks.

STUTTGART

Predicted line-up (4-1-2-1-2): Kobel; Stenzel, Badstuber, Kempf, Sosa; Karazor; Castro, Ascacibar; Didavi; Al Ghaddioui, Gomez

Unavailable: Kalajdzic (Injured), Gonzalez (International duty), Donis (Injured), Insua (Injured), Awoudja (Suspended), Kaminski (Injured)

Doubtful:

  • Stuttgart ran out 2-1 winners at home to fellow relegated side Hannover 96 last Friday in their first game under new coach Tim Walter, after an eventful encounter which both teams finished with 10 men.
  • The win was dampened by a serious injury to Marcin Kaminski, who sustained a cruciate ligament tear which is expected to rule him out for six months, and fellow centre-back Maxime Awoudja is suspended, so Holger Badstuber is set to start.
  • With Sasa Kalajdzic and Anastasios Donis currently sidelined by injury and Nicolas Gonzalez still away on international duty, Mario Gomez and Hamadi Al Ghaddioui will continue as the front two, while Chadrac Akolo has left the club.

BETTING ANALYSIS

Stuttgart registered just two clean sheets away from home in the Bundesliga last season and they make the short trip to Heidenheim with only two available centre-backs. The hosts failed to score in just two of their home league matches last season so there should be goals in this one.

Betting tip: (Over) Over or under 2.5 goals
