THE LOWDOWN
STRASBOURG
Much like clubs such as Lorient in Ligue 1, there have been weekly fan protests at Strasbourg as a result of the takeover of the club by BlueCo, effectively making them a feeder club to Premier League side, Chelsea. That has combined with underwhelming performances and results on the pitch to leave Strasbourg in an unhappy situation.
Former Crystal Palace boss and Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira remains in charge of the Alsace-based club but they come into this one on the back of an extension of their winless run of form as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Montpellier, last weekend. That means they are now winless in their last six matches across all competitions.
MONACO
Under the management of former Borussia Monchengladbach boss Adi Hutter, Monaco begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top three and the UEFA Champions League places after a recent improvement in their results but maintaining an entertaining and attacking style of football.
The Monagasque come into this one on the back of a surprising but impressive point at home to Paris Saint-Germain at Stade Louis II last weekend, sharing a goalless draw with the French champions. That was their first nil-all of the season with their other 23 matches so far in this campaign consisting of a combined total of 78 goals.

THE PREDICTION
Things could get a little bit worse and messier for Patrick Vieira and Strasbourg this weekend. The former Nice boss could well find himself on the verge of the sack with his struggling side now hosting a Monaco team that have suffered just one loss in their last six matches in Ligue 1 and backing the away team is the way to go for this one.
TIP: MONACO TO WIN
