THE LOWDOWN

REIMS

Under the management of Will Still, Stade de Reims leapt up the table last season and after an impressive, busy summer transfer window, Reims have launched themselves towards the European spots this time around. They begin the weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the top four and come into this on the back of some good form.

Back-to-back 1-0 victories against Nantes and Lorient mean that Reims are now in genuine European contention. In their opening 11 matches of the campaign, Reims have suffered just three defeats so far this season but their performances have perhaps been less impressive than what their results would suggest.

PSG

It was a busy and turbulent summer transfer window with the loss of the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar with lots of several interesting and impressive additions. Luis Enrique’s side have suffered from similar issues that Luis Enrique’s Spain team suffered from with issues in both boxes but excellent in between.

However, after a slow-ish start to the campaign, PSG are improving as the campaign has gone on, with the capacity for a calamity as was the case in midweek as AC Milan came from behind to defeat them at San Siro. PSG have improved four successive Ligue 1 victories and they come into this on the back of a 3-0 hammering of Montpellier.

THE TEAM NEWS

PSG

Luis Enrique has to deal with suspended duo Achraf Hakimi and Randal Kolo Muani, as well as injuries to the likes of Keylor Navas and Marco Asensio.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-2-2): Donnarumma; Mukiele, Marquinhos, Skriniar, Hernandez; Zaire-Emery, Ugarte; Dembele, Lee; Ramos, Mbappe

UNAVAILABLE: Kolo Muani (Suspended), Hakimi (Suspended), Danilo Pereira (Injured), Navas (Injured), Asensio (Injured), Sergio Rico (Injured), Nuno Mendes (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

This is a big game between two of France’s top four and it could well be a bit of a thriller at Reims. Will Still’s sides are well coached and they have been generally proactive so, despite the fact they have scored 17 goals in 11 games, they will seek to get at PSG this weekend. PSG have issues defensively, especially with an injury to Nuno Mendes and the suspension of Achraf Hakimi. The visitors remain the favourites for this one but it could well be an entertaining encounter.
