THE PREDICTION
Last year saw HJK – the most successful club side in Finnish history – endure their worst Veikkausliiga campaign since 2007 as they finished in a disappointing fifth place and they will be determined to make a fast start to this season and reassert themselves. Their preparation has been ideal too as they have played three Suomen Cup matches in June and won them all to reach the final so their fitness and confidence levels should be good coming into this league opener. Lahti have also been in cup action but they were completely outplayed by Inter Turku in a 5-0 defeat on Sunday which will have dented morale somewhat and they could be on the end of another heavy loss to HJK here.
