THE LOWDOWN
NOTTINGHAM FOREST
A four-point deduction over the March international break means that Nottingham Forest are heading into the final few weeks of the Premier League campaign firmly involved in the relegation battle. They have been underwhelming throughout the season, though, and the pressure remains firmly on Nuno Espirito Santo.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss most recently oversaw a 2-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park last weekend. After that defeat, in which Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil scored the winning goals, Nottingham Forest launched into an unprecedented level of aggressive protestation against the PGMOL and the league’s officials on social media.
MAN CITY
Pep Guardiola looks like he may well be heading into a fourth successive Premier League triumph as Manchester City manager and his sixth title in total since arriving in England. As we head into the final month of the campaign, City have their destiny in their own hands but begin the weekend below Arsenal by a point with a game-in-hand.
They annihilated Brighton and Hove Albion by four goals to nil at the AMEX Stadium in midweek. Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring in the 17th minute of that match before a brace from England international Phil Foden made it 3-0 before half-time and then Julian Alvarez notched a fourth in the second-half.
THE TEAM NEWS
NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Nuno Espirito Santo gave little away in terms of who was available for Nottingham Forest in his pre-match press conference. He did say 'yeah we have some issues'.
It is known that defender Willy Boly, who has been out for some time alongside Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi, are definitely two of Nuno's injury concerns but it is not known if that list is longer.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Sels; Williams, Felipe, Murillo, Aina; Yates, Danilo; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Boly (Injured), Awoniyi (Injured)
MAN CITY
Pep Guardiola offered a slightly positive update on Erling Haaland but there is no real suggestion that he will be back involved for the reigning champions as they head to the City Ground.
"He says he feels better, I don't know" was what the Spaniard said about the Norway international. Aside from Haaland, there are no other known injury issues for the visitors.
PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol; Rodri; Foden, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Grealish; Julian Alvarez
UNAVAILABLE:
QUESTIONABLE: Haaland (Injured)
THE PREDICTION
This could well be a one-sided affair at the City Ground. All eyes are expected to be on Nottingham this weekend after they launched into an attack on the Premier League. However, on the pitch, even without all of the decisions in the world going their favour, there is a serious and major gulf between the two. City, without UEFA Champions League distraction in the coming week, do not have to rotate that heavily and a heavy, comfortable away win is to be expected.
TIP: MAN CITY TO WIN
