THE LOWDOWN
ANDERLECHT
Throughout the last half a decade or so, Anderlecht have consistently underperformed to a point where they have even been slipping into the bottom-half of the Jupiler Pro League. The Brussels club have improved this season with coaching by former Brentford assistant manager, Brian Riemer, who was appointed last season.
They went two goals up inside 25 minutes in Liege last weekend but ended up losing to Standard by three goals to two. They remain towards the very top end of the table with six victories and three draws in their opening 11 matches as they try and challenge an Union SG side that are threatening to run away with the title.
OH LEUVEN
Oud-Heverlee Leuven are owned by Leicester City’s controlling ownership group, King Power. Marc Brys had been in charge of the club since 2020 but, like Leicester, the club had stagnated and the reduction in the league from 18 to 16 teams means the likelihood of them being drawn into a battle this season is even more probable.
The visitors come into this on the back of a 4-0 demolition of Sint-Truiden in their most recent outing, last weekend. In their last six matches, they have managed three victories, a draw and two defeats as they sit just outside of the bottom four with no permanent manager after the subsequent sacking of the aforementioned Brys.

THE PREDICTION
Off the back of just their second defeat of the campaign, Anderlecht will be pleased to be coming up against fairly average and underwhelming opposition. They have scored 18 goals in 11 games so far this season and have launched their regeneration in an impressive style. They now face an OH Leuven side that have managed just three wins so far this season, albeit they have also managed 18 goals. Anderlecht are favourites for this, especially with their home advantage, but it should be an entertaining encounter.
BETTING TIP: ANDERLECHT TO WIN & OVER 2.5 GOALS
