THE PREDICTION
Werder Bremen will be hoping the cup can provide them with a much-needed lift following seven consecutive Bundesliga defeats, which have left them teetering above the relegation zone. The board gave their backing to coach Florian Kohfeldt this week and a cup final appearance would certainly earn him some more favour. The coaching position is also the centre of attention at RB Leipzig right now, with the club announcing on Thursday that Jesse Marsch will succeed Bayern-bound Julian Nagelsmann in the summer. Nagelsmann would love to sign off with his first trophy and he has a very real chance to do so in this competition. Leipzig have won their last four meetings with Bremen by an aggregate score of 12-1, and the Bundesliga’s best defence have also yet to concede in the cup this season. With Werder struggling for goals at the moment, a win to nil for the visitors looks reasonably likely.
