Flavio Cobolli vs Novak Djokovic prediction
Flavio Cobolli continued his best run at a Grand Slam as he advanced through to the quarter-finals after defeating 2017 finalist Marin Cilic in four sets. Cobolli made the faster start and maintained his level despite a slight wobble in the third set tiebreak to win 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-3. The Italian has only been broken on two occasions throughout the whole tournament so far and has lost just the one set.
He now faces Novak Djokovic as he overcame Alex de Minaur in the round-of-16. The 24-time Grand Slam champion made a terrible start to the match and went 4-1 down in the fourth set but he managed to wrestle back control and eventually come through to win 1-6 6-4 6-4 6-4. He struggled in the longer rallies against the Australian but still created a number of opportunities on De Minaur’s serve.
They played once before in Shanghai last year, with Djokovic easily winning 6-1 6-2. The Serb should be much improved for this one and will be a heavy favourite to make it through to yet another Grand Slam semi-final.
