Team TSZ enjoyed a renaissance with almost double the average Double Gameweek 25 points of 47, with a jammy last-minute Bruno Fernandes goal stopping the rot. It was actually the site team’s best gameweek of the season, statistically, as they moved back within the top 400k and nearer the respectable end of the global table. Dioga Jota’s injury in the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday has thrown a spanner in the works for most FPL managers this weekend. Is there a more tempting double game week than Norwich and Leeds at home for Liverpool? Probably not. I hear it on good authority that Trystan and Alex will be gleefully tapping that triple captain button this week.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 26 TEAM

Formation: 3-4-3
Captain: Salah (TC)
Vice-captain: Alexander-Arnold
Transfers made: 3 (Williams > Van Dijk / Jota > Salah / Ronaldo > Weghorst)
Point deductions: -8

Mo Salah could well be rested for the Leeds game although the Egyptian is almost never benched by Jurgen Klopp, who nailed him on for starting at home to Norwich on Saturday by saying he hoped the star man would score his 150th goal for the Reds. No pressure, Mo, but you can probably nab your 151st and 152nd, too. The benefit of not giving a toss about Team TSZ until the very last minute means that Trystan and Alex were not stung too badly by Jota’s injury. I, on the other hand, have minused like I’ve never minused before.

With Jota switched out and Salah coming in, it looked like downgrading either of Bruno Fernandes or Cristiano Ronaldo were the only options available. The pair settled on keeping Fernandes because of his hat-trick at home to Leeds at the start of the season. Fair enough. Although I agreed with Alex that this match feels like a slippery one for the Red Devils. If I had a wildcard this week I’d be bringing in Dan James for a huge slice of vengeance pie.

“I’d be very very surprised if Ralf Rangnick rests Ronaldo away at Leeds” said Alex, throwing a cat amongst the pigeons. Perhaps this is what Kurt Zouma was attempting? Maybe there were hundreds of pigeons out of shot in that video and he felt he had no other choice? Sort of like real-life Angry Birds? It’s still shocking behaviour. As a huge cat apologist, I think it only fair that the cat in question now gets its own podcast like Jackie Weaver.

In came Mo Salah for Diogo Jota, and Wout Weghorst for Cristiano Ronaldo because Burnley have back-to-back double gameweeks coming up. That’s a lot of nil nils to get through. Salah was immediately tripled up as we three clapped on the Skype call, signalling another successful discussion.

However, as you can see, Trystan suffered some last-minute flights of fancy that caused him to suggest bringing in Virgil van Dijk for an unheard of MINUS EIGHT. Personally, I’m all for this kind of maverick behaviour. I make at least two of these “calculated risks” a gameweek. Word on the street is that I’ve ended up bench boosting to cover for a -28, with 26 matches worth of points this weekend either proving me a genius or utterly mad. In reality, it’s neither of those. Just plain old boredom. Brandon Williams departs for the fifth or sixth time this season to make way for the least droppable member of Jurgen Klopp’s backline. I think between the three of us we just about have enough fingers crossed.
