FPL Gameweek 25 – head-to-head comparisons: John Lundstram vs Diego Rico

John Lundstram (£5.1m) has enjoyed a spectacular season in terms of FPL but his superb scoring has slowed down of late. In his last four Premier League starts, Lundstram has only managed to produce a score of more than two points on just one occasion. He also found himself on the bench in Gameweek 24 with his place in the team far from secure. He has a chance of returning to the side in Gameweek 25 but it is by no means a certainty.

Bournemouth have not kept a clean sheet in the Premier League since Gameweek 17 when they defeated Chelsea. That has hampered the chances of their defenders producing good scores and with just five goals over the same period, there has been limited chances to score points from goals or assists, too. Diego Rico (£4.3m) accounted for one of those assists in his side’s win over Brighton last week but with Bournemouth failing to impress as a team aside from that rare win in Gameweek 24, it is difficult to recommend any of their players at present and Lundstram still presents better value. However, be aware that there are some rumblings regarding his place in the side as Muhamed Besic has impressed of late and the Blades have also been active in the transfer market so that is something to bear in mind.
