After a vastly shortened first match went the way of South Africa, England will be hoping to gain significantly more from this next game, which should hopefully be a full 20-over-a-side contest.

Date/time:

Venue: Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, England

Weather: Rain forecast across the day but should be dry come the scheduled hours of play.

How to watch: UK – Sky Sports / USA – Willow TV

England vs South Africa prediction

Bad weather in Cardiff should’ve seen the first T20i between these two nations abandoned, but somehow a result was found despite the match having overs consistently lost due to rain stoppages. In the end, England found themselves requiring 69 runs in five overs to win and wound up falling well short as South Africa restricted them to 54/5.

Whilst Manchester should see rain during the day, it is expected to clear up by the start of play and bar any chances, an actual T20i should be played. Jofra Archer was protected on Wednesday and will be chomping at the bit to get out there at Emirates Old Trafford. It would be no surprise if his exhilarating pace proves to be a difference-maker for England and leads to a number of South African wickets.

The result itself is tough to predict. England are expected to be significantly better assuming we get a full 20-over encounter, whilst the Proteas are in great form across all formats. When taking this into account, focus specifically on Archer and consider backing the England speedster to take over 1.5 match wickets.

England vs South Africa tip: Marco Jansen to take over 1.5 match wickets
