Low6 PDC Home Tour – Last Eight Group 1 Preview & Prediction

THE FACTS

What is the PDC Home Tour? With the PDC Tour currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, the PDC devised the tournament to supply some darting action to players and fans, with all matches being streamed live from the homes of the players who are involved.

Who is taking part in the PDC Home Tour? All 128 PDC Tour Card holders were invited to take part, though there were some absences in the first phase with the most notable being Michael van Gerwen, whilst Daryl Gurney, Mensur Suljovic and Adrian Lewis were also missing. For a recap of the tournament so far, visit our dedicated tournament page.

What is the format of the PDC Home Tour? The tournament is played in a round-robin format consisting of four players per group; the first phase took place over 32 consecutive evenings with the group winners then competing in a play-off phase which consisted of a further eight groups of four. Those eight group winners have now been split into two groups of four, out of which the top two in each group will progress to the Championship Group.

Where can I watch the PDC Home Tour? All PDC Home Tour action will be broadcast live on PDCTV for FREE to ALL registered PDCTV users, regardless of whether you have a paid or free membership.

vs Mike De Decker

PROSPECTS
Gary Anderson has cruised through to the last eight without any fuss having won both of his groups without losing a match. The Flying Scotsman’s best performance of the tournament so far came in his last 32 group when he averaged 110 in defeating Luke Humphries. It would be a surprise if he didn’t claim a place in the Championship Group.

vs Mike De Decker
W1, L0
Last meeting: Dave Chisnall 6-5 Mike De Decker (Oct 2015 – Players Championship)

PROSPECTS
Dave Chisnall’s only defeat on his way to reaching this stage of the tournament was in a last-leg decider against Damon Heta in the last 32 but he responded by winning back-to-back matches to earn his spot in the last eight. Chizzy’s famed scoring power will be key to his chances of progressing and I think he is likely to take one of the top two spots in this group.

JELLE KLAASEN

vs Mike De Decker
W1, L0
Last meeting: Jelle Klaasen 6-4 Mike De Decker (Oct 2016 – Players Championship)

PROSPECTS
Jelle Klaasen topped a group containing the reigning world champion Peter Wright in the last 32 with the Dutchman claiming a 6-1 victory against Snakebite in the last match of the night. As well as he has done in the tournament so far, one feels that Klaasen will have to show some improvement if he is to contend for a place in the Championship Group.

MIKE DE DECKER

2020 PDC HOME TOUR
Route to the last eight
Phase One
Group 26 Winner – 4pts (+5)
Average – 92.82
180s – 5 (0.24 per leg)
High finish – 135
*these stats only apply to the group from which qualification was achieved

Last 32
Group 2 Winner – 4pts (+2)
Average – 93.91
180s – 7 (0.22 per leg)
High finish – 145

H2H
vs Gary Anderson
W0, L1
Last meeting: Gary Anderson 6-1 Mike De Decker (Feb 2016 – UK Open qualifier)

vs Dave Chisnall
W0, L1
Last meeting: Dave Chisnall 6-5 Mike De Decker (Oct 2015 – Players Championship)

vs Jelle Klaasen
W0, L1
Last meeting: Jelle Klaasen 6-4 Mike De Decker (Oct 2016 – Players Championship)

PROSPECTS
Mike De Decker was a surprise winner of a group which contained Stephen Bunting and Glen Durrant in the last 32. The young Belgian is capable of being very competitive in this group but it’s a tall order to expect him to finish above Anderson and Chisnall.

THREE PICKS FROM 3 DART ANALYST

Gary Anderson -2.5 handicap vs Mike De Decker

Anderson has won all of his matches comfortably in this tournament so far and he looks likely to start the evening with a commanding performance against De Decker.

Mike De Decker to beat Jelle Klaasen

Mike De Decker has played to a good enough standard in the PDC Home Tour to suggest that there might be some value in siding with him to come out on top in his match against Klaasen.

Over 5.5 180s – Gary Anderson vs Dave Chisnall

Anderson and Chisnall are both prolific maximum hitters and when they clash in this group we are likely to be treated to a barrage of treble-twenty scoring from the pair.
