There are three World Championships between Peter Wright and Gary Anderson, with the two Scots now going head-to-head for the right to feature in another final of darts’ showpiece event. Of the two, Wright has averaged higher than Anderson throughout the tournament and goes into this as the slight favourite, but form often goes out of the window on such occasions and Anderson has bags of experience in these moments. In terms of their respective quarter-finals on New Year’s Day, Anderson was a fairly comfortable winner over Luke Humphries while Wright was pushed al the way by an inspired Callan Rydz, and in many ways that said more about Wright’s title credentials than it did Anderson’s. Snakebite look to just have the edge here but it will not be straightforward.
