Northern Ireland vs Portugal prediction

Northern Ireland have endured a tough run of form in League B of the UEFA Women’s Nations League in 2026, with just two victories and four defeats in six matches – both of those wins coming against a poor Malta side.

Portugal, on the other hand, head into this play-off on the back of five successive victories in their League B campaign before being beaten 3-1 by Finland in Tampere.

The Portuguese had previously managed just one win in 12 matches before that improvement. They will still be slight favourites but this first-leg is expected to be a close contest at Inver Park in Larne.

Northern Ireland vs Portugal tip: Under 2.5 goals
