Slovakia come into this one on the back of a 2-1 victory over Latvia in their most recent outing in June. They have only beaten Latvia in their last nine matches since gaining promotion from League C of the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
The Ukrainians endured a tough League A campaign this year with six defeats from six against England, Spain and Iceland; scoring three and conceding 19 goals in the process.
Ukraine played above their level in the top-flight of women’s European international football but they will be confident back at a more comfortable level against the Slovakians and this first-leg is expected to be an even contest.
