Key stats

  • Croatia are unbeaten in their last 15 World Cup qualifying matches (W12 D3).
  • Croatia have kept 12 clean sheets in their last 15 World Cup qualifying matches.
  • Croatia are unbeaten in their last 15 World Cup qualifying matches at home (W12 D3), since a 1-2 defeat against Belgium in October 2013.
  • The Faroe Islands have won three successive World Cup qualifying matches for the first time.

Croatia vs Faroe Islands prediction

Croatia come into this one on the back of a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Gibraltar last month at Stadion Andelko Herjavec. The Croats have collected 16 points from their six qualifiers in Group L of UEFA qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring 20 goals and conceding just one in the process.

They face a Faroe Islands side that have now won four of their last five qualifiers to give themselves a slight chance of finishing second in Group L but it would require the Czechs dropping points to Gibraltar and the Faroese backing up last month’s victories over Montenegro and Czechia by winning in Croatia.

That is unlikely to happen but complacency from the Croats could allow a flurry of Faroese attacks and they have proven themselves to be becoming more effective.
