LONDON SPIRIT
London Spirit are one of just two teams in the Men’s Hundred yet to gain a victory, although each of their last two games have finished without a result due to rain interfering during proceedings, firstly away at Manchester Originals and then most recently at home to Southern Brave. That particular match had seen them reduce James Vince’s side to 34/3 bowling first, only increasing their frustration as they’d have been very confident of going on and winning following such a good start.

Trent Rockets were edged out at home to Northern Superchargers this past Wednesday, meaning that since that opening night win over Southern Brave they had suffered one washout and one defeat, making this an important match from their perspective with them currently two points adrift of the top three, albeit having played one match less than all the teams above them. Joe Root made his first appearance of this year’s competition against the Superchargers, failing with the bat but doing well with the ball, his spin bowling picking up two wickets.
THE PREDICTION
Although on paper, Trent Rockets look a stronger team, the frustration of having been denied by the weather in midweek could well drive London Spirit on and it would be no surprise to see them make a strong start as they did against the Brave. They are very good with the ball at Lord’s and have the bowling nous to keep a powerful Trent Rockets top order in check. Although they’ll need to make good use of the powerplay, consider backing London Spirit to respond to recent adversity in the best way, by beating the Rockets.
