- Beating Peshawar Zalmi by 16 runs to start, the Gladiators backed that up on Monday by getting the better of reigning champions Lahore Qalandars, winning by five wickets with five balls to spare.

- Islamabad failed to build upon their rout of Lahore Qalandars on opening night with a win in their second match, losing by a desperately narrow margin against Multan Sultans in a low-scoring encounter.
- Losing all ten wickets would have been a disappointment for Islamabad, which saw them ultimately not manage to accrue a big enough score, another 15-20 or so runs could have proven the difference.

If the Islamabad United top order perform to the levels in which they are capable of here then Quetta Gladiators’ unbeaten run will come under severe threat in this game. There isn’t a huge difference in quality between the two sides and Islamabad have the bowling attack capable of skittling their opponents.
