The Spaniard will now take on Mary Stoiana for a spot in the last four after the American claimed a 7-6 6-1 success over Dominika Salkova.
This will be their first meeting and there’s certainly scope to suggest Stoiana has the game to cause problems.
Badosa should still be too strong and will hope for a faster start this time around. The former world number two will be a big favourite to win so the only value is in backing her to iron out some kinks and be more efficient this time around.
