THE LOWDOWN

PESHAWAR ZALMI

  • Peshawar Zalmi avoided a third consecutive loss in the Pakistan Super League as they got the better of Karachi Kings in comfortable fashion last time out and they will look to build on that as they take on Quetta Gladiators.
  • Zalmi were 55-run victors thanks to posting a score of 193/6 with Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Haris doing a great job when opening the batting before a solid display from the bowling unit limited their opponents to 138/6.

QUETTA GLADIATORS

  • Quetta Gladiators fell short in their quest to make it three straight wins as Lahore Qalandars dealt them an eight-wicket loss with the bowling unit failing to restrict the run chase of the Qalandars.
  • Defending a score of 141/7, the Gladiators could only take two wickets in response which ensured the Qalandars comfortably surpassed their target with 14 balls to spare and a much better effort is required here if they are to respond.

THE PREDICTION

These two teams are each locked on six points apiece having won three of their seven games in the Pakistan Super League. Both are still capable of remaining in the tournament beyond the round robin stage but every win is set to be crucial from this point on with four teams separated by just four points. There is little to split the two based on this season’s form but Zalmi prevailed in their most recent contest last month which was their fifth straight win in matchups between the pair so they have to be given the nod to be the side to get back to winning ways in this one.
