LAHORE QALANDARS
- Lahore Qalandars produced a woeful batting display as they fell to bottom side and previously winless Karachi Kings as they failed to make it three straight wins and that loss means that they cannot finish top of the standings in the Pakistan Super League.
- The Qalandars needed 150 to win but were reduced to 127/9 with their top three in the order all falling cheaply for a combined 22 runs and they will need to be much better with the bat in this clash with Islamabad United.
ISLAMABAD UNITED
- Islamabad United failed to make it back-to-back wins once again as their W-L sequence was extended to eight matches thanks to a ten-run loss to Peshawar Zalmi last time out and they need to win this to stay in the hunt for second place.
- United were far from embarrassed in the clash with Zalmi but ultimately left themselves with too much to do as they attempted to chase down 207 for the win and they need to produce more with the ball this time out.
THE PREDICTION
The race for second spot in the Pakistan Super League is still up for grabs and this game between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United could go a long way to determining which side finishes behind leaders Multan Sultans. The Qalandars allowed Karachi Kings to claim their first win of the tournament last time out and will be desperate to respond while United remain inconsistent with them yet to win or lose back-to-back games throughout this year.
