THE LOWDOWN

WEST INDIES

The frustration for West Indies will have been that at one stage, they found themselves in pole position to win the third T20i and thus seal a memorable series victory with two matches remaining. After having recorded 159/5 batting first with a blistering late cameo from captain Rovman Powell boosting their score, the Windies reduced India to 34/2 in the powerplay. However, that was as good as it got for Powell’s men as the Indian middle order took control of the game and eventually iced the run chase comfortably. West Indies now have a second opportunity to seal the series here in Florida.

INDIA

India have been waiting for Suryakumar Yadav to show his quality after a quiet series by his standards. They finally got their wish in the third T20i, the dynamic batter demonstrating his class in this format with 83 from 44 balls to break the back of their run chase. Tilak Varma has been comfortably India’s best player across the series so far and he again proved what a talent he is with a brilliant 49 not out, supported by skipper Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 20 as the tourists reached their target of 160 with 2.1 overs remaining.

THE PREDICTION

When taking into account India’s recent record when it comes to bilateral white ball series, it’s understandable why they are clear favourites to force a game five decider. They proved why their batting depth is so enviable across world cricket and whilst the Indian bowlers haven’t found it easy against West Indies’ big-hitters, they are holding their own. Now that Suryakumar Yadav has rediscovered his form, India are expected to kick on from here, so back them to come out on top again and tie the series.

TIP: INDIA TO WIN
