THE PREDICTION

Bangla Tigers are spoiled for choice when it comes to selecting their top order. Whilst captain Faf du Plessis is a given, the Tigers can call upon the likes of Afghanistan star Hazratullah Zazai, West Indian Andre Fletcher and two young English talents in Will Jacks and Will Smeed, both of whom can hit the ball a long way as shown in County Cricket. They also boast the mercurial Shahid Afridi in the middle-order, whose all-round skills should be perfectly suited to the T10 format, alongside left-arm fast bowler and fellow countryman Mohammad Amir. Team Abu Dhabi also have the potential to light this tournament up with sixes galore as ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle links up with England limited overs star Liam Livingstone. Add the likes of Ireland’s Paul Stirling and proven franchise performer Colin Ingram into the mix and you have some serious firepower.

The key to this match is likely to be the depth of both teams. Whilst each contain top orders with the potential to blow the opposition bowling unit away, Bangla Tigers look better equipped to cope should they suffer early wickets. Experience within the bowling is also crucial and in the likes of Amir, Qais Ahmad, James Faulkner and Benny Howell, Bangla Tigers also have that in spades. Therefore, provided both Gayle and Livingstone are dismissed without causing a huge dent in the scoring card, a Tigers win does look on the cards.
