THE PREDICTION

New South Wales are looking to make it three successive wins and maintain their unbeaten record in this season’s Marsh One-Day Cup as they face Tasmania. Jordan Silk’s side have not featured in 50 over action since last November, when they defeated Western Australia and in Ben McDermott, contain one of the most dangerous limited-overs hitters around at present. However, Tim David is away at the Pakistan Super League and will be a big miss for Tasmania against an NSW side containing the likes of Hayden Kerr and Ben Dwarshuis. When taking into account the current weather, it would be no surprise if this match was disrupted by the weather. This benefitted New South Wales and their strong bowling attack against Queensland, so it would be no surprise if it were to do so again here, particularly if batting conditions turn out to be less than friendly. Whilst the sensible move would be not to make a play until closer to the start of this one, right now it’s New South Wales who are to be favoured for victory.
