Birkirkara finished fifth in the Maltese Premier League last season, but they managed to squeeze into those top five spots on the final day of the campaign. Birkirkara will believe they can make things difficult for Petrocub in this first-leg at home, but the Moldovans would still have to be viewed as the favourites for the tie.
