PREDICTION
It is fair to say that the current crop of Crystal Palace players did not expect to be going up against Sam Allardyce again after the one-time England boss retired from management last May. As it stands though, two former ‘Three Lions’ managers will square off this weekend when Big Sam and Roy Hodgson lead their respective sides into battle. For Everton, the hope and the expectation will be that they bounce back from the miserable defeat they were dealt by Arsenal, but with their upcoming opposition only having lost once in their last six matches then that may be easier said than done. Everton have lost four of their last six as they begin to slide back down the table, so a point come Saturday would not be the worst result for either side.
MEMORABLE MEETING
April 2014 saw these two teams face off at Goodison Park and the fans in attendance certainly got their money’s worth when it came to goals scored. There were no fewer than five that afternoon and it was the visitors who eventually came out on top. Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome all found net for the Eagles and by the time they had it was 3-1 to Crystal Palace. Everton did score a late consolation through Kevin Mirallas but it was not enough to stop the points going to South London.
