PREDICTION
Bournemouth’s impressive Premier League form was brought to a shuddering halt recently after they were dealt a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield. Even though they were soundly beaten, that should not diminish their recent achievements with a set of results which sees them go into this game lying in the top half of the Premier League table.
They are not quite out of the relegation battle just yet but a win over Newcastle would give them even more breathing space between themselves and the bottom three. Rafael Benitez’s men will be no pushover though especially after beating Manchester United in their last league outing. That said, with Newcastle’s form being more indifferent than that of their opponents. coupled with them being away from home, then all signs point to a return to winning ways for Bournemouth.
MEMORABLE MEETING
Newcastle United's second ever league visit to Bournemouth came back in November 2015 and it would prove to be a successful one. There was not a lot of action in terms of goals that afternoon with just one being scored; the all-important strike coming from Ayoze Perez whose first half finish meant the Magpies returned to Tyneside with all three points.
