- The only two unbeaten teams face off at Trent Bridge and Virat Kohli’s men will be keen to join their opponents New Zealand on six points with a win here and they come off a morale-boosting win over Australia on Sunday.
- They have named an unchanged team last time out, and after two impressive performances, there is little reason for them to dramatically change things, especially against high-quality opposition.
- They will have to make one enforced change however as they have been dealt a blow by the news that Shikhar Dhawan has sustained a hairline fracture to his finger and will likely miss a couple of weeks of action so that could see KL Rahul move up the order to partner Rohit Sharma and Vijay Shankar or possibly Dinesh Karthik coming into the middle order.
NEW ZEALAND

- New Zealand have romped to three consecutive victories after they hammered Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, and edged past Bangladesh, but now they face a major step up in class as they face one of the tournament favourites in India.
- The Blackcap bowlers have been in sparkling form having bowled out all three teams so far as Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson especially have been in superb form, and they will be key to their hopes if they are to trouble this talented Indian side.
- There continue to be question marks over the opening partnership of Guptill and Munro failing to fire once again as they continue to be boom or bust, and the reliance on Williamson and Taylor continues to be great so they will need others to step up with the bat against such an elite bowling unit.
THE PREDICTION
New Zealand may sit in top spot but that flatters them somewhat as the schedule has been kind to them having met Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan so far. India have a 100% record themselves but they have beaten South Africa and Australia, and the reality is that their performances have been a level above the Blackcaps. New Zealand will know they have to step up a level if they are to compete here with the bat especially but this will be a major test. India are playing some tremendous cricket right now and assuming rain does not play a role in this match, they have to be favoured to pick up another victory here.
