NOVAK DJOKOVIC
- Novak Djokovic played out an entertaining third-round match with Hubert Hurkacz in which he lost his first set of the campaign after some quick reflexes from the young Pole.
- Djokovic’s camp may well have been anticipating a round of 16 match with Canadian starlet Felix Auger-Aliassime but the Serb will play another youngster Ugo Humbert after the Frenchman stunned Auger-Aliassime in straight sets.
- The draw looks kind for the world number one with so many top ten seeds already eliminated but the potential to meet Roberto Bautista Agut, who has beaten Djokovic twice this year, is cause for concern.
UGO HUMBERT
- Ugo Humbert provided one of the shocks of the third round at Wimbledon after he beat starlet Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets.
- 21-year-old Humbert has grown into this tournament with every match and his reward will be a Centre Court match against the world number one.
- Humbert is expected to do great things alongside fellow French youngster Corentin Moutet but his performance against Felix Auger-Aliassime was out of the blue considering his 6-13 record for the year before Wimbledon started.
THE PREDICTION
22-year-old Hubert Hurkacz showed the next generation that world number one Novak Djokovic can occasionally be beaten at the net when he took a set off the Serb in the third round and surprise package Ugo Humbert will do well to emulate the Pole. His victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime was his second successive straight-sets victory and he put out the 16th seed Gael Monfils in the first round which should make Djokovic take notice. Humbert can enjoy the theatre in the biggest match of his life, and maybe take a set in the process, but Djokovic will prevail.
