THE TEAM NEWS

SYDNEY ROOSTERS

Head Coach: Trent Robinson

Starting 13: Manu, Tupou, Mitchell, Aubusson, Hall, Hutchison, Cronk, Tetevano, Radley, Taukeiaho, Cordner, Crichton, Liu – Interchanges: Butcher, Collins, Tupouniua, Faamausili Reserves: Ikuvalu, Verrills

Unavailable: Brett Morris, Jake Friend, Lachlan Lam, Luke Keary, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, James Tedesco

  • Sydney Roosters made it three defeats in a row as they failed to overcome the Panthers after fielding a much weakened side but a home game against bottom of the ladder Canterbury presents a great chance to get to winning ways.

  • Latrell Mitchell will make a welcome return in the centres for the Roosters whilst Angus Crichton is also back after not backing up after Origin and he will start in the second row with Sitili Tupouniua dropping to the bench.

  • The Roosters have made some late changes to their side with head coach Trent Robinson opting to rest James Tedseco which sees Joseph Manu switch to fullback and Mitch Aubusson comes off the bench to line up in the centres and Poasa Faamausili is promoted to the bench.

CANTERBURY-BANKSTOWN BULLDOGS

Head Coach: Dean Pay

Starting 13: Meaney, Montoya, Watene-Zelezniak, Hopoate, R. Smith, Foran, Brown, Tolman, Marshall-King, Napa, Jackson, Faitala-Mariner, Harawira-Naera – Interchanges: Martin, Fualalo, Sue, C. Smith – Reserves: Lichaa, Ogden

Unavailable: Brandon Wakeham, Jayden Okunbor, Jack Cogger, Adam Elliott

  • Canterbury are now alone at the foot of the NRL ladder after they suffered their fifth defeat in six games as they went down to St. George and will come up against a Roosters outfit eager to get back to winning ways.

  • New signing Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has been named at centre in what will be his debut game for the Bulldogs with Christan Crichton dropped and that sees Marcelo Montoya shifting to the wing.

  • Jack Cogger and Adam Elliott are late scratches from the Canterbury side after knocks they suffered last week so Fa’amanu Brown gets a chance at halfback whilst Corey Harawira-Naera is promoted to the starting side at lock with Sauaso Sue and Chris Smith coming onto the bench after they were origjnally left out.

THE PREDICTION

Canterbury will be hoping that new signing Dallin Watene-Zelezniak can provide the attacking spark they need after another poor showing against St. George. They now travel to reigning Premiers Sydney Roosters who will be keen to put their losing run behind them. They will have to do it without the brilliant James Tedesco as he is afforded a rest but with Latrell Mitchell having plenty to prove on his return to the side, he can be the key man for his side and can lead them to their first win in four games.
