ROGER FEDERER

  • 37-year-old Roger Federer is back at one of his favourite stomping grounds as he aims to win a record-extending tenth title at the Halle Open.
  • The Swiss veteran aimed to clinch his 21st Grand Slam title at the French Open but he was beaten in the semi-final by Rafael Nadal in three sets.
  • Federer has won eight out of his last ten matches on grass courts and he has not lost the opening match of a tournament since the 2018 Miami Open.

JOHN MILLMAN

  • John Millman’s first grass court appearance this year ended in a first-round loss at the Mercedes Cup last week to German Dustin Brown in two sets.
  • The Australian is ranked 56th in the world and he has lost three of his last four matches that have been contested on grass courts.
  • The 30-year-old has only won once against a top ten ranked player which came against Federer at the 2018 US Open on hard courts.

THE PREDICTION

Millman created a huge upset when he beat Federer in four sets at the 2018 US Open in the Round of 16. Federer has formidable success at the Halle Open with nine titles to his name and given that Millman has performed poorly this season, expect the Swiss world number three to dispatch the Australian easily in two sets.
