THE TEAM NEWS
SENEGAL
- Senegal were made to work hard but were able to complete a professional performance against Uganda by seeing off their opponents thanks to an early goal as they qualified for the last eight of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
- Sadio Mane scored the goal’s only game in the 15th minute and he could have killed the game off but for the second game in succession, he failed to convert from the penalty spot.
- Senegal were not placed under a great deal of pressure and with just one goal conceded in the tournament so far, they will be confident of making the last four with a plenty of options to choose from in their squad.
BENIN
- Benin completed a remarkable victory over Morocco to progress to the last-eight of the Africa Cup of Nations as the ten-men held their nerve to claim a famous by way of a penalty shootout.
- In a thrilling contest, Benin took the lead in the second half through Moise Adilehou but Morocco equalised and had a chance to win it at the death but the Moroccans saw their spot kick hit the post which sent the game to extra time.
- Khaled Adenon was sent off for a second booking and will miss the quarter-final clash in what is likely to be an otherwise unchanged team after Benin held on to send the game to a shootout with them scoring all four of their efforts to claim a 4-1 win.

THE PREDICTION
Senegal look like one of the stronger teams remaining in the Africa Cup of Nations but still have plenty of room for improvement. They will have to show that in this quarter-final clash with Benin who beat Morocco in their last 16 contest. They will be without the suspended Khaled Adenon after he was sent off against Morocco and with Benin still yet to win a game in regulation time, Senegal should prove too strong after winning three of their four matches.
