Anderlecht come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of newly-promoted Dender in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League at the weekend. In the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League, the Brussels-based outfit managed to see off Sheriff Tiraspol by four goals to one on aggregate.
AEK Athens managed to overcome Cypriot First Division side Aris Limassol in an entertaining clash in the previous round of this competition. After sharing a 2-2 draw in Limassol, AEK won by three goals to one in the second-leg at home, backing up a second qualifying round win against Hapoel Be’er Sheva last month.
AEK Athens will believe they can be stubborn and competitive enough to ensure the tie remains alive going back to Greece, and even both teams scoring would seem a good bet.
